I write to express my support for S. 3427, the “Neuroscience Center of Excellence Act of 2021,” and Section 306 of H.R. 6000, the “Cures 2.0 Act,” and request that you please co-sponsor these important pieces of legislation. These measures would establish a Neuroscience Center of Excellence (NCOE) at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

I support the creation of an NCOE, whose mission would be to accelerate development, review, and approval of new medical products; and achieve patient-centric regulatory decision-making at the FDA through collaboration, engagement, and transparency.

As of 2020, nearly 100 million Americans are living with psychiatric and neurological diseases, costing the U.S. health care system $760 billion annually.
